Post Production

One of the biggest pieces of hardware that we used in post production were the iMacs in the editing suite. The iMacs were the only piece of hardwire that we used during the editing phase of our production.  We worked as a group everyday around the iMac to edit the final version of our sequence but the hardware was most prominently used by the editor of our group, Annie. 

The main piece of software that we used in post production was Adobe Premiere Pro. Premiere Pro was the editing software that we used to edit our opening title sequence. We used Adobe premiere pro as it was the software the the school had on hand for us to use on the iMacs. Premiere pro was also the software that we were all the most fumiliar with as we had previously had workshops using Premier Pro. One of the aspects that we had to edit the most was was the volume. Since we were using a monopoly board as a prop we could hear the sound of the monopoly pieces moving during mots of the clips at the table. While we were editing the clips together we had to make sure that the sound flowed together smoothly and the audio wasn’t choppy. This was somewhat of a challenge in some of the scenes as we couldn’t mute them because of the dialogue. To fix this issue we had to learn how to the use the audio transitions in Premiere pro. One of the specific scenes that we had the m most trouble with was the scene where the daughter says “Go back to Old Kent Road”, this scene was difficult as the sound of the monopoly board was too prominent and the dialogue was too quiet. To fix this issue we had to take apart the two pieces of audio and double layer the dialogue white taking down the volume of the monopoly board pieces moving, we all had to focus on the transition from the softer to louder noise. 

we used YouTube in the post production stage of creating our opening title sequence as the final step in the production areas. We used YouTube to upload the finish product. we used YouTube because, as I previously stated it is an easily accessible platform to everyone in our group and is simple to upload on to.
